当社は、「正直な商売」と「進取の気性」を創業の精神として、明治20年（1887年）に横川の地で創業いたしました。先代の宗兼俊明は、「戦後の広島を復興したい」、「広島の人を幸せにする」という決意をもって、1960年に広島では初めてとなるスーパーマーケットを開店しました。これからも、地域のインフラとして、「食」を提供する社会的役割を果たし、地域のサステナブルな発展に貢献して参ります。

私は、「当社が地域インフラの重要な役割を担っている」という誇りを持って仕事をしています。東日本大震災の際、被災した地域住民の方がスーパーの再開を喜び、その存在に勇気づけられている姿を見て、スーパーが担う社会的役割の大きさに気づきました。これからも、地域のインフラを担い社会へ貢献しているという誇りを胸に、食を通じてお客様を笑顔にできるよう精進して参ります。
